H2 Facility Estimate Development – Upwork
I require an estimate on a H2 Facility that will be based in the U.K. below is the query.
"Site is greenfield site that will need site preparation, prior to civil construction work commence, and then through the construction disciplines.
The plant is split OSBL 246,000 construction hours, and ISBL 450,000 Construction hours, total 696,000 Construction Hours.
These hours are Directs and Indirects.
Site is limited to 270 POB, of which 70 POB are existing Operations, so 200 POB available for H2 facility construction.
Facility Project Management and Engineering support is in the hours above, and must also be considered in the POB count.
Week is 5.5 days a week, eight hours a day. (I assume 5 hours productive, but you can assume different if you wish.)
Applying experience, norms, and knowing nothing further how long do you calculate for the Site Prep. and through Construction duration, knowing nothing further?"
There will be a need to make a fair amount of assumptions on this exercise. Those assumptions will need to be fairly well documented.
This estimate will need to be provided in native format in excel with appropriate formulas added in .
Here is some guidance on my suggested approach:
I would probably remove the indirects from the total and base the math purely on the direct hours and POB. I would only use craft hours (those craft would need to be detailed out as discrete line items in the estimate) if possibly as you don't want to dilute the calculations. I would find similiar projects and over all durations either from my/your experience or online (documented of course) that could be used as a benchmark for your overall durations. Then see how that compares to your own calculations based solely on POB of direct craft, manhours, and assumptions of productive time. I would utilize 5.5 hours productive time as a good assumption.
If this isn't possible i will take a workable estimation template tool as a concession so i can build out the estimate myself.
