As we expand our services into the GIS market, we are seeking a talented and experienced GIS Consultant to join our team on a consultant basis.
Job Description:
We are looking for a GIS Consultant with industry experience in municipal or government projects to provide training and guidance on the various opportunities available in the GIS market. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping us identify and pursue GIS projects that align with our expertise and business goals. This position will involve working closely with our team to develop strategies, provide training to our team, build relationships with potential clients, and enhance our capabilities in the GIS domain.
Responsibilities:
– Conduct thorough research and analysis of the GIS market, specifically focusing on municipal and government projects.
– Provide training and guidance to our team on the different types of GIS projects that we could potentially undertake.
– Collaborate with our business development team to identify potential clients and opportunities in the GIS market.
– Assist in the preparation of proposals and bids for GIS projects, ensuring they align with client requirements and our capabilities.
– Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in GIS technology and methodologies.
– Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, municipalities, and other potential clients.
– Provide technical expertise and support to our team during the execution of GIS projects.
Requirements:
– Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field, specifically on municipal or government projects.
– Strong knowledge of GIS software, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
– Familiarity with geospatial data collection techniques, including aerial mapping and surveying.
– Proven track record of successfully delivering GIS projects on time and within budget.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
– Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
– Experience working with government agencies and knowledge of government procurement processes is highly desirable. We are very close to a contact with GSA presently and would like to include GIS capabilities.
This is a consultant position, and the selected candidate will work on a project basis. Compensation will be based on the scope and duration of each project.
