Winter is the unofficial baking month and Trader Joe’s is helping you step up your home baker game with its new Peppermint Flavored Baking Chips.

The new Peppermint Flavored Baking Chips are essentially chocolate chips, but with a peppermint twist. Each of the new baking chips is made with peppermint oil and other natural flavors that help deliver that signature candy cane taste. More specifically, each chip features a velvety, snow-white chip base made from milk powder and sweetened with cane sugar. The chips are then finished with an edible, bright red glitter that helps to produce that striped candy cane visual.

As for how to best use the new Peppermint Flavored Baking Chips, Trader Joe’s suggests baking them into cookies or brownies, or if you’re really adventurous, dropping a few in your hot chocolate.
