Code and create a python script to scrape probate data – Upwork
We are seeking a talented Python coder to develop a script/program that will scrape probate data from Casenet and generate an Excel file based on a specified date range. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in Python, experience with web scraping, and proficiency in handling data manipulation and extraction tasks.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop a Python script/program to scrape probate data from Casenet.
Implement functionality to allow the user to enter a date range for the desired probate cases.
Retrieve probate case data, including information such as Decedent name, Decedent address, Heir name(s), and Heir address(es).
Extract relevant data from the web pages using web scraping techniques and ensure accurate data extraction.
Cleanse and format the scraped data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Organize the collected data into a structured format suitable for exporting to an Excel file.
Generate an Excel file that includes all the probate case data based on the specified date range.
Handle errors and exceptions gracefully, providing meaningful error messages and troubleshooting solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and incorporate any necessary modifications or enhancements to the program.
Test and debug the script/program to ensure its functionality and accuracy.
Document the code, including comments and instructions, to facilitate future maintenance and updates.
Requirements:
Strong proficiency in Python programming language.
Experience with web scraping using Python libraries such as BeautifulSoup or Scrapy.
Familiarity with HTML and CSS for effective web scraping.
Solid understanding of data manipulation and extraction techniques.
Proficiency in handling data formats such as CSV and Excel.
