Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated developer to join our team and create a custom eBay stock monitor and notification bot. The primary objective of this role is to design, develop, and maintain a robust automated system that monitors real-time stock availability and price changes for specific eBay products. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in web scraping, data processing, and bot development. This exciting opportunity will allow the developer to contribute to a cutting-edge project that enhances our ability to make informed decisions and capitalize on lucrative eBay stock opportunities.
We need a bot that can monitor the price of multiple SKU's and deliver notifications to a telegram or discord channel when either the price of an item drops, a new listing is created that matches the criteria or when an auction is about to come to an end and is under the price criteria.
Responsibilities:
Bot Development: Design and build a reliable and efficient eBay stock monitoring bot capable of scanning targeted eBay product listings at regular intervals, extracting relevant data, and identifying stock availability and price fluctuations.
Real-time Data Collection: Implement mechanisms to ensure the bot gathers real-time data on product stock status, prices, and any other relevant information necessary for accurate monitoring.
Data Processing and Analysis: Develop algorithms to process and analyze the collected data, interpreting stock changes and price trends, and presenting the information in a clear and actionable format.
Notification System: Integrate a notification system into the bot that can alert designated users promptly when specific stock conditions are met or when significant price changes occur.
Error Handling and Logging: Implement robust error handling mechanisms and maintain detailed logs to facilitate debugging and ensure the bot's continuous and reliable operation.
Scalability and Performance Optimization: Optimize the bot's performance and scalability to handle a large volume of product listings efficiently.
Technological Research: Stay updated with the latest technologies, APIs, and industry trends related to web scraping and bot development, recommending improvements to the existing system as needed.
Security and Ethical Considerations: Ensure compliance with eBay's terms of service and prioritize security measures to protect against potential vulnerabilities or unauthorized access.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in developing web scraping bots and automation tools.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or any other suitable language for bot development.
Familiarity with eBay's API or similar APIs for data retrieval is a plus.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) for collaborative development.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
