Electric Truck Pilots : Wawa 1

Wawa, a renowned convenience retailer, has reached two significant milestones in its electric vehicle (EV) journey. Firstly, the company has expanded its EV charging offerings to 150 stores across its operating area. Wawa began offering EV charging in 2017 and now hosts more Tesla Superchargers than any other retail chain in North America, along with chargers from EVgo, ChargePoint, and Electrify America. Since 2017, Wawa has hosted over six million charging sessions at its EV charging locations.

Secondly, Wawa is embarking on a new venture by partnering with Penske Logistics to operate a Freightliner eCascadia battery-electric truck in a 6-month pilot program. This marks Wawa’s first use of an electric truck and Penske’s first such truck in the Philadelphia region. The pilot aims to explore the potential for future application or expansion of electric trucks in Wawa’s delivery fleet.
