I am seeking a highly skilled and experienced editor to provide a comprehensive full stack editing service for the first book of my fantasy saga. The book has a total word count of 135,324 words.
Responsibilities:
Developmental Editing: Review the manuscript for overall structure, plot coherence, character development, pacing, and narrative flow. Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance the overall storytelling and ensure a captivating reading experience. Evaluate and provide feedback on the maps, ensuring their accuracy, consistency, and alignment with the story.
Line Editing: Conduct a thorough line-by-line edit to refine the language, syntax, grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Pay attention to clarity, consistency, and style to ensure a polished and professional manuscript.
Copyediting: Verify and correct any errors, inconsistencies, or inaccuracies in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting. Maintain consistency in terms of language and style throughout the book.
Proofreading: Conduct a final proofreading pass to eliminate any remaining typographical or formatting errors before publication.
Requirements:
Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience in editing fantasy novels or similar genre works is required. Please provide references or a portfolio highlighting your previous editing projects.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to the highest editorial standards.
Confidentiality: Prior to commencing the editing contract, both parties must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to protect the confidentiality of the manuscript and any related information.
Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA):
Upon acceptance of the project, the author will provide an NDA for both parties to sign. The NDA will establish the confidentiality obligations and protect the author's rights over the manuscript and associated intellectual property.
