In a significant initiative, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is set to collaborate with sixteen young individuals through the newly established National Environmental Youth Advisory Council (NEYAC). Starting on November 16, these young leaders will work closely with EPA administrator Michael S. Regan, providing independent advice and recommendations on behalf of youth communities.

Recognizing the substantial impact of climate change on the future of these communities, the program aims to incorporate the insights and perspectives of the younger generation into the EPA’s environmental efforts. Addressing climate change, which disproportionately affects young communities, is a key focus of the NEYAC.

All of the members of the new NEYAC program are between the ages of 16 and 29.
