Google has unveiled a new hand gesture detection feature on Google Meet. Leveraging the power of artificial intelligence, this innovative addition aims to streamline the process of raising one’s hand during a video call by allowing AI detection to identify when a hand is raised in real life.

Notably, to use this feature, the hand must be positioned away from the face and body to trigger the detection. This thoughtful design ensures that the feature remains contextually relevant and responsive to intentional gestures, avoiding unintentional activations during the video call.

The hand gesture detection feature is made available across most Google Meet Workspace plans. Notably, the feature is disabled by default, and those who wish to utilize it can easily enable it through the settings.
