Kaleidoscopic Kindergarten Buildings : Tianshui Kindergarten

The Tianshui Kindergarten has been designed by SAKO Architects as a school in Tianshui, China that’s constructed to deliver a whimsical experience for children, but also onlookers from the outside.

The school is characterized by its castle-like construction that makes use of 438 pieces of colored glass throughout the building. These components are found at the top of conventional window panes, but also act as chromatic dividers in common areas to give children the feeling of being inside a kaleidoscope. The colored glass will shine their shades onto the walls and floors to brighten up the all-white walls.

The Tianshui Kindergarten is finished with a rooftop playground that offers a safe place for children to play, while also offering panoramic views of Tianshui City.
