Next-Gen Crime Games : grand theft auto vi

Rockstar Games, the company most known for its ‘Grand Theft Auto (GTA)’ and ‘Red Dead Redemption’ franchises, yesterday released a trailer for its upcoming AAA title, ‘Grand Theft Auto VI.’ This is a story-focused, open-world crime game set in a fictional version of Miami, Florida, titled Vice City. While the trailer for the game is only one minute and thirty seconds long, it gives a strong look at the many environments present in the game, including swamps, beaches, cityscapes, nightclubs, and more.

The game follows the story of Lucia, the first female protagonist in GTA since the first title back in 1997, and her companions. The dialogue in the trailer shows that, in this game, the stakes are high and the characters must do anything it takes to achieve their goal. However, the trailer is vague on exactly what this goal is, as this is the first trailer for the game. Rockstar Games concludes the trailer by stating the game is coming in 2025. The company’s press release confirms that the 2025 release will only include PS5 and XSX versions, with PS4, XB1, XSS, and PC being left out of the initial release.
