Journal, a newly launched iPhone app by Apple, aims to enhance users’ well-being by facilitating reflection and gratitude through journaling. The app allows users to document everyday moments and special events, incorporating multimedia elements like photos, videos, and audio recordings to create impactful memories.

Leveraging on-device machine learning, Journal provides personalized suggestions for journal entries, encouraging users to reflect thoughtfully. Customizable notifications further support the development of consistent writing habits.

The introduction of the Journaling Suggestions API enables third-party journaling apps to offer personalized prompts for users.

“The Journal app is an exciting development for us because it introduces the benefits of digital journaling to a wider audience and ushers in a new chapter for the practice,” said Paul Mayne, founder of the journaling app Day One, in a statement.
