Retro-Inspired Handheld Concepts : pocket dmg

‘AYANEO,’ the Shenzhen-based premium handheld PC manufacturer, recently announced the latest addition to its ‘AYANEO REMAKE’ concept titled the ‘Pocket DMG.’ This is a compact handheld gaming device inspired by retro consoles such as the GameBoy. The name DMG comes from the original colorway and name of Nintendo’s GameBoy released in the 1980s.

AYANEO has not confirmed the release date, pricing, or specifications of the Pocket DMG. However, the design is visible on the promotional page through various teaser photos. The device features a simplistic design with a d-pad, four face buttons, a start and select button, and a dedicated AYANEO button. Inspired by previous AYANEO devices, the AYANEO button will likely pull up a menu or overlay that assists with controls and navigation. The device comes in an all-black colorway and is expected to run the Android operating system.
