Savory Fast-Food Pies : blueberry lemon cream cheese

Popeyes announced it is launching a new compact fried pie, this time titled the Blueberry Lemon Cream Cheese Fried Pie. In recent years, snack-size fried pies have become increasingly popular at fast food restaurants, with those such as McDonald’s, Jollibees, A&W, and more, all frequently experimenting with new flavors of fried pies.

Popeyes’ unique offering to this market, though, is its blend of sweet and savory ingredients in a single dish. The fried chicken restaurants’ pie is made with a layer of cream cheese on the top, a blueberry puree filling, and a mixture of lemon juice for flavor. This is a turnover-style pie that is sure to please consumers looking for a quick sweet, or savory, dessert following their meal.
