Smart Safety-Focused Hardhats : connected hard hat

‘Knowit,’ a Stockholm-based company, worked with an international construction company based in Poland, which it did not name, to create a connected hard hat. This hard hat was designed with the primary goal of improving safety on worksites. As such, the hard hat has a number of features designed around preventing accidents and improving employee awareness.

The connected hard hat monitors the surrounding environment in real-time. It can warn the wearer for potential fall risks and environmental dangers, as well as larger factors such as shaking, impacts, falls, and temperature changes in the atmosphere. The company states that the connected hard hat can also verify the credentials of the wearer through the companion application, ensuring that the workers are certified for the tools and machines that they are operating. The connected hard hat connects to a data collection platform that offers statistics monitoring in real-time on a network server.
