Structural Engineer – Attic Plans
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Structural Engineer to develop plans for an attic conversion project. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing plans for the attic space in a residential building, ensuring that the structure is safe, stable, and complies with local building codes.
Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough analysis of the existing structure, including load-bearing walls, beams, and columns
Design plans for the attic conversion project, including modifications to the existing structure, if necessary
Ensure that the plans comply with local building codes and regulations
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to determine project specifications and requirements
Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for construction projects
Monitor construction sites to ensure that structures are built according to plans and specifications
Review and approve construction materials and methods to ensure compliance with project requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license
5+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on residential projects
Strong proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, or RISA
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting software
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Hourly Range: $8.00-$10.00
