The Hotel June Malibu is a boutique hotel that reimagines a former motel as a retro-chic oasis, with cozy rooms, vintage furniture, and surf-inspired artwork. The hotel opened in 2021 under the name Hotel June. It was previously named the Malibu Riviera until 2016, then renamed to the Native Hotel from 2016 to 2021. The new Hotel June Malibu aims to recapture the original roots of the hotel that stem from the mid-20th century.

The hotel is located on four lush acres off the famed Pacific Coast Highway, with a view of the ocean and a running stream. The hotel invites guests to relax and reconnect with nature, as well as explore the nearby attractions, such as the Malibu Pier, the Getty Villa, and the Santa Monica Mountains.

The hotel’s design draws inspiration from the free-spirited and sunny vibe of California, as well as the history and culture of Malibu. The hotel features local art in every room, including framed black and white photographs by original owner Wayne Wilcox, whose work evokes an era in Malibu history rarely seen by outsiders. The hotel also offers a Cal-Mex-inspired restaurant bar that serves takeaway fare, a heated swimming pool, hammocks, Linus bikes, surfboards, and dog-friendly amenities.
